Had the great priveledge of shooting this documentary for director Katerina Konradova. I was in Pozega, Western Serbia taking part in the Interaction Short Documentary film festival, and along with the rest of the fantastic crew elected to spend a week with a local family known as the Badger Brothers. The two oldest sons were taking their first steps into working for the family business, logging, and this became the focus for our film.
The festivals synopsis does a better job than mine. In the village of Dljin, two boys—Bobi and Darko—are growing up inside a world defined by timber, sweat, and horsepower. Sons of the men known locally as Braća Jazavci (“The Badger Brothers”), they live in a multigenerational household that functions as its own self-sufficient ecosystem.
